Heroes season four trailer! What the what? Claire becomes a lesbian? No Mohinder narrations? Yay? As much as season 4 sucked balls, I’ll probably be waiting to download it every Tuesday night.

#43: "Lucky Man" - The Verve (1997)
This had to be at least one of the Top 10 most boring music videos of the 90’s. Who directed it - Richard Ashcroft’s housekeeper? What’s even sadder is how the rest of the band members just sit around like they’re part of the furniture. This was just weak, Verve. Weak like Casper the friendly-fucking-ghost kind of weak.

#42: "Title And Registration" - Death Cab For...
Even when they try to sound upbeat, there’s something inherently depressing about DCFC. If anything, Ben Gibbard has mastered channelling his bleeding heart through the art of singing through one’s nostrils.

#41: "Lady" - Modjo (2000)
Damn the French! Them with the delicate-looking frenchwomen who don’t ascribe to the conventions of modern society regarding the upkeep of women’s armpits.
Damn the French and their liberal social views that allow young men and women to take showers together (clothed no less!) and sleep together without it leading to awkward sex. Even if it did, they would make it an artistic...

Hello Again Tumblr! (Plus: My Robot Has No Pants)
Ok, so it’s been a while since I’ve checked in here. I haven’t had much of a life and when I did have some time off, I got warped (see the Ultimate LEGO Library) into the insanely addictive world of LEGO (yes, LEGO must be spelt in uppercase). I’ve also discovered how Tumblarity is an utter crock of shit. I left it alone for slightly over a week, it dropped all the way down to 15. Logged in...

Trailer: Whip It (October 2009)
Upcoming Ellen Page flick (notice how she’s become a sub-genre?) that’s also the directorial debut of Drew Barrymore! Indie rock misfit (that’s Ellen Page, in case you’re Amish) cures her smalltown misery by becoming a full on roller skate derby fanatic. Right.

#40: "I Try" - Macy Gray (1999)
The very first pirated CD I ever bought was her first album. I thought it was refreshing to hear a Top 10 hit by someone who sang like her throat had been lubricated by turpentine (and possibly hair as well, in place of shampoo).
10 years on, the universe decided to correct itself and now we have Corinne Bailey Rae.
In 1999, I bought my very first pirated CD from Taman Tun’s pasar...

#39: "Helicopter" - Bloc Party (2004)
I consider this an awesome song for the following reasons:
This was part of the FIFA 06 soundtrack which I had played for a solid 3 years til I upgraded to FIFA 09. Good times.
They succesfully used the word bravado with great lyrical aplomb (ie: “North to south, engines running on bravado”). How awesome is that? No one uses words like that anymore.
If you bother to learn the...

#38: "78 Stone Wobble" - Gomez (1998)
Gomez seemed like the type of band that were so uncool they were cool - they were bad singers and had the types of voices that gave you the impression that they were a bunch of ugly college dropouts who just sat around and got high and wrote songs filled with cryptic metaphors swathed under layers of tremelo guitar effects.
Eventually, I found out what they looked like and realised… I...

#37: "Everything" - M2M (2002)
So when M2M first broke into the scene, you couldn’t really tell them apart because they both looked sickeningly sweet and illegal. And for the most part, their music was just balls.
But then this song came out and blew everything out of the water. Their coming of age punctuated by skanky skirts and (presumably) valid drivers licences, it seemed like they now needed to be taken a bit...
